Santa Maria Maddalena, a Traditional Festival

On 22 July, Santa Maria Maddalena returns, celebrating the patron saint of Bordighera Alta with a community festival dedicated to local traditions, maritime culture and the history of the old village.

From 6:00 pm until late evening, the narrow streets and charming squares of the historic centre will come alive with a rich programme of activities, inviting visitors to discover the authentic identity of Bordighera Alta. Restaurants and cafés will offer themed dinners and cocktails, while workshops, vintage photographs and historical images will tell the story of the local community.

The programme also includes the Aperiacciuga with the Barchette della Maddalena, in collaboration with U Descu Spiaretè di Ospedaletti, Occitan folk dances performed by Lu Brabalùcou Balbosco d'Òc, and traditional songs by the choir Cheli de Campurussu. Traditional costumes, seafood flavours, music and storytelling will recreate the atmosphere of old Bordighera in a day celebrating conviviality and local traditions.

Event sponsored by the Municipality of Bordighera and organised by Associazione A Pria Presiuza.
