Lowe Gardens

The Lowe Gardens, located in the centre of Bordighera, are one of the city’s most well-known and frequented green spaces. They were donated in 1902 by the English entrepreneur Henry Löwe with the intention of creating a place dedicated to rest and well-being, especially for elderly people and for those staying in Bordighera for health reasons.

A figure closely connected to the development of nineteenth-century Bordighera, Löwe also contributed to the construction of the Victoria Hall and the Tennis Club by donating the land on which the two buildings were built.

The park is characterised by centuries-old olive trees, shaded paths and flowerbeds that still make it a pleasant place for meetings and walks among residents and visitors.

During the summer season, one of the garden’s areas, known as the Arena degli Ulivi, hosts concerts, performances and open-air cultural events surrounded by trees and greenery.

A place that preserves the connection between Bordighera’s international history, everyday city life and the peaceful atmosphere of its historic gardens.
