Former Anglican Church (Multipurpose Center)
The Former Anglican Church of Bordighera stands in Via Regina Vittoria, a side street of Via Vittorio Veneto.
The English community, already very numerous in the city in the 19th century, soon found here a permanent place of worship: after the first religious services held at the Hotel d’Angleterre and in a private chapel at Villa Rosa, the construction of the church was made possible thanks to the donation of Mrs Fanshawe Walker. Built in the second half of the 19th century, the church became not only a liturgical space but also a social meeting point, renowned for the chaplain’s receptions.
Used for worship until recent times, it was later acquired by the Municipality and restored. Today it hosts cultural events, concerts, conferences and temporary exhibitions, in close connection with the nearby Palazzo del Parco.
